Bishop Patrick Dunn is the Patron of the Catholic Caring Foundation. He is the 11th Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland and was appointed on 29th March, 1995.
He was educated at St Michael’s School in Remuera and then Sacred Heart College in Glen Innes. Upon leaving school, he studied at the University of Auckland followed by studying for the Priesthood at Holy Cross Seminary in Mosgiel. He was ordained in 1976.
Following his ordination, his pastoral work has included working with the Catholic Maori Mission and the parishes of Mangere East, Takapuna, Pakuranga and Northcote.
