Seasons for Growth

“I leave here thinking there is a solution to the hurt we carry around in our souls….”

“I hope that I will become a better person and more able to make structured decisions”

“I now feel that there is help out there for me, and realise that there are more people that love and care for me than I thought.”

These comments are feedback from Auckland Prisoners who have attended the Seasons for Growth programme.   This programme is a non-denominational programme which assists people of all ages and walks of life to understand and manage the changes they experience when a significant loss occurs.

It is based on the understanding that working through grief involves four tasks:

To accept the reality of loss
To experience the pain of grief
To adjust to changed circumstances
To reinvest emotional energy

Using the imagery of four seasons the programme is a safe and proven way to help people to think about, and for some, come to terms with their life changing experiences.

The Catholic Caring Foundation has provided 15,500 to fund the Seasons for Growth programme over the last five years.
