Full tummies build hope for the future!
Papakura Christian Services Trust – Angelslight Breakfast Club.
We all know the benefit of getting a good breakfast in the morning and getting a kick start to the day. In the Papakura region, around 250 young people pour through the door of the Angelslight Breakfast Club each morning in five different schools.
Healthy bodies build healthy minds, which in turn means these wonderful children have a heads up to building a better future for themselves and their community.
The impact of having a healthy breakfast before school means that these kids are able to concentrate and participate fully during their school day. The simplicity of toast, cereal and a hot drink each morning will mean a better future in the lives of these children.
The Catholic Caring Foundation gave the Papakura Christian Services Trust $10,000 for their project in 2007 as well as offering advice to ensure the project is sustainable and encouraging capacity building.
