About the Catholic Caring Foundation
The Catholic Caring Foundation is based on the Gospel message of Love of God and neighbour, to serve those at the margins of our society. We walk alongside organisations, providing not only financial assistance but mentoring and moral support as they develop programs that care for families and for communities.

The Catholic Caring Foundation was established in 1988 by Bishop Denis Browne to enable the Auckland Diocese to assist those in need.   Since then, we have distributed in excess of $7 million in grants.

Funds raised are distributed to local organisations that are at the coal face of providing help and assistance to those in the community who need it.

Today, Bishop Pat Dunn is the patron of the Foundation, and oversees our work from the North Cape to the Coromandel, raising funds and then distributing to agencies who work directly to strengthen families and create vibrant communities.

In 2009, we distributed just over $504,000 to not-for-profit agencies.  We are more committed than ever to assist agencies to care for New Zealanders who are marginalised and seek assistance.
