Bishop Patrick Dunn
Bishop Dunn is the 11th Bishop of Auckland. He was appointed in 1995 and is patron of the Catholic Caring Foundation.

Prior to his appointment, Bishop Dunn was personal assistant to the previous Bishop of Auckland, Bishop Dennis Browne who established the Catholic Caring Foundation in 1988.

Bishop Dunn is an Aucklander who as a child was educated at St Michael’s School in Remuera and then Sacred Heart College in Glen Innes.

Upon leaving school he studied at the University of Auckland followed by studying for the Priesthood at Holy Cross Seminary in Mosgiel. He was ordained in 1976.

His pastoral work includes working with the Catholic Maori Mission and the parishes at Mangere East, Takapuna, Pakuranga and Northcote.
